LEGACY OF CHARITY
MELDRUM GROUP – OUR LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP IN COMMUNITY SERVICE
EDUCATION
On the University of Utah campus, thanks to a generous $3.3 million dollar gift from U of U alum Floyd Meldrum and his wife Jeri, the new and well-equipped Floyd and Jeri Meldrum Civil and Environmental Engineering building now accommodates hundreds of additional top engineering students. They understand that opportunities for high-level training and gaining job-related skills prepare students to enter the workforce and attain a more successful life. The Meldrum partnership remains committed to helping others find that achievement. It’s noteworthy that two of the Meldrum granddaughters have graduated from the Civil and Environmental Engineering program at the University of Utah perpetuating the family’s third generation of ties to higher education and the engineering profession.
Floyd and Jeri Meldrum are the very definition of the American success story. Floyd worked tirelessly to build a reputation of unquestioned integrity and incomparable work ethic while providing a living wage for thousands of employees and their families. Meldrum’s support for their community and, especially, education has been a satisfying aspect of their success. Their tireless work individually and as a family has earned them the admiration and respect of all who know them.
Floyd and Jeri Meldrum have had a successful and productive partnership these many years. They are strengthened as their vision of success continues to include sharing with others the gifts with which they've been blessed. Their search for opportunities to provide a positive influence in the lives of students has led them to contribute millions of dollars to higher education.
This young man’s vision of all the possibilities within the Las Vegas valley coupled with his integrity, compassion, tenacity and the inclusion of his family members, has now reached the apex of his “American Dream”. And his greatest legacy is not only what has been accomplished in his lifetime but the great projects he knows will follow through the vision, knowledge and training he has set for his family. Yes, there is MUCH more to come. We honor the Meldrum’s, Floyd, Jeri and their family for all they have attained and wish them continued success in the years still to come AS THEY PAVE THE WAY INTO THE FUTURE!
